Profile:
Michael is a native of Kentucky and earned an MA in Behavioral Sciences and Religion in Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville is also where he married his Cuban-born wife and where they raised their three children.
In 1980, Michael founded the Human Potential institute in Nashville, a personal growth center offering counseling, biofeedback, clinical hypnotherapy, personal development workshops and coaching in various techniques of personal empowerment. As a part of this work he was certified in brain dominance evaluation by the Whole Brain Corporation and worked with WBC as a corporate trainer.
In the mid 80's Michael created his own business called "Creative Resource Systems" through which, among other things, he offered a popular workshop entitled "Getting Down To Business With Your Right Brain."
After a year living in Madrid, Spain, in the late 80's Michael organized and operated a small tour company called Creative Tours & Travel specializing in taking groups to ancient sacred sites around the world including Peru, Egypt, Mexico, England, Ireland & Bali. This was the beginning of a new international phase in his work, connections, and perspective.
In 1992 Michael moved to Asheville, North Carolina, and in '95 bought land adjacent to the national forest which he subsequently turned into a small retreat center called Mountain Light Sanctuary (www.mtnlightsanctuary.com). The Sanctuary has served as his base for many other projects and endeavors.
The latest of these was the creation of the International Institute for Global Leadership (www.global-leadership.com) in 2003. The Institute is a tuition free, internet-based education program which provides a curriculum in leadership designed to prepare students to become personally empowered, consciously aware, work from high-integrity and heart-center as leaders in their communities and the world.
In his capacity as director, Michael overseas and mentors the leadership development of more than 75 high potential leaders and leaders from 26 countries.
