Profile:Esther Matte has been self-employed since 1994. After 10 years of consulting in strategic communications, focussed on writing, planning and translating, she decided she wanted to co-create her communication plans with her clients. That opened the door to a whole new profession: that of facilitator of collaborative group work and later consultant and trainer in the Genuine Contact Approach.

Esther established her reputation with creative, enthusiastic, rigorous and efficient consulting. She is fluent in English and French and works with organizations from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. She uses the Genuine Contact approach, Open Space Technology and other highly participative methodologies such as Appreciative Inquiry and World Café to help her clients draw on the rich knowledge, ideas and experience of staff and partners to devise and implement the best possible action plans. These approaches open communication and foster collaboration, engaging participants with not only their minds but also their heart and intuition to produce sustainable results. Esther has facilitated or co-facilitated many events gathering very few or hundreds of people for organizations such as Oxfam, Hydro-Québec, Bombardier Aerospace, Montreal Women’s Health Center, the Canadian Union of Public Employees, the Canadian Labour Congress, the Quebec Theatre Council, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the General Consulate of Canada in New York and the Délégation générale du Québec à New York.
